Donor Agreements

Liza Loop Katrina Villages are not a scheme to redistribute a major part of the wealth in the United States. They are a mechanism for those of us who live with a daily surplus to make a bit of our excess good fortune available to folks in need for enough time to get their feet back under them.

Legal Agreements and Contracts that preserve ownership and control while limiting liability are the mechanism our society has devised to protect wealth. To motivate the wealthy and well-to-do to share we must make and honor such agreements.

If you, dear reader, have access to this type of contract, please donate some of your expertise and intellectual property.

My son mentioned that he heard that Carnival Cruise Lines has offered to park a ship off New Orleans to house refugees but the releif agencies can't figure out how to negotiate an agreement with the Carnival Corporation. Katrina Villages is not the only project with this problem. It's very deep in the US legal infrastructure. Let's get it solved. Failing to do so will undermine the very foundations of capitalism as wealth becomes more concentrated and even the generous wealthy are penalized in their efforts to give.
